Curious Case of Ishant Sharma

Ishnat Sharma has had lots of ups and downs. Some days, he can bowl a fiery spell that can knock of the best of batman (Ask Punter :P), while other days he looked like a pretty ordinary bowler who was told to bowl and therefore he was bowling.  In the recent past he was becoming more and more of a stock bowler. All this has changed in the ongoing India vs West Indies series where he has had West Indies batsman on their feet almost every delivery.


His stock delivery is the ball that comes into the batsman and in between he bowls the one which holds the line. Earlier he was bowling a little slow and as a result batsman were able to play him off the pitch.

His rejuvenation came in IPL4 where he bowled pretty fast reaching even 150kmph on a couple of ocassions. His spell of 5-12 against kochi tuskers kerala was exceptional and after that spell he has looked a completely different bowler. He bowls fast , makes the batsman play and is not afraid of bowling short stuff at the batsman.

This new Avatar of Ishant sharma earned him the Man of the Match for the 2nd test where he picked 10 wickets for 108 runs. Hopeflly he can carry on like this in the future too.
